I Spy with My Little Eye... A Photo Spot!

At Pier 39 they were kind enough to point out great spots to take pictures... so we did. We took a picture of almost every photo spot we found :)

The Pier was really cool! There were sea lions and sunshine, towers and tours, and prisons and performers! We didn't get to tour Alcatraz but we did take a picture of it!

We had a great time in San Francisco but it was definitely wonderful to return home. I love Arizona <3

Oh where, oh where is the Golden Gate Bridge??

Jeff came to San Francisco with his high school choir many eons ago thus he had seen the bridge before. I had not. I can now say that I have been on the Golden Gate Bridge but I still have never seen it!

It was so cold and foggy! The wind was blowing like crazy and you could literally see the fog just rolling in. I have never seen fog like that in my life. It. Was. AWESOME.

They *say* the bridge is held up by ginormous cables (like the one Jeff is trying to wrap his arms around in the picture) but for all I know, it could just be a hoax since I haven't actually seen it... ;)

Not Made in China...

We had 1 day to explore San Francisco and boy did we go all over the place! Here's part of it....

China Town was pretty interesting. Unfortunately for us, we got off the bus at the wrong end and most of the time we were walking up hill...but then again, when are you not walking up hill in San Fran??

It was like you weren't in America any more. Lined with tons and tons of shops filled with pointless stuff. Who buys this stuff? seriously. We had a good time though.  (Negative note: it smelled really bad there)

Both of the statues in the right-hand corner are of Buddha. Hmm... changed just a little bit over the years?

The Fortune Cookie Factory is this little tiny shop down a little tiny alley that we almost completely missed. Turns out we were standing right in front of it and we didn't even know it!
We had to pay 50 cents to get these pictures and then $1 for a small bag of cookies that weren't even "made in China"!

It was so interesting to see how the cable cars worked here at the Cable Car Museum.
We even found a sign for the "Powell Mason" line. Who knew that two of our nephews were named after an old cable car line?

We couldn't go to Ghirardelli Square without eating some of their scrumptious chocolate!
The Pumpkin Caramel Squares are really, really good. We ordered "The Gold Rush" because we figured after all the walking we had done that day, we could use a sugar rush ;)

A Random Park

My all time favorite thing about San Francisco was the random parks! You'd be surrounded by so many buildings and so much craziness and then all of the sudden you'd come upon a random little park. They were beautiful!! Here are some pics from one of them...

A very very random statue. I don't quite get it...

A VERY VERY Handsome Husband

Validated

I went on my very first business trip last week to San Francisco
AND I even have my own business cards.
We (Jeff got to come too!) attended the Marketo User Summit 2010
held at the Marriott San Francisco Marque.

I feel validated.

The hotel was huge!!
She had purple extensions
No I did not fall asleep during the conference...

Spring Break!!

When I went to school, I chose BYU over ASU because I couldn't find any way I liked ASU over BYU. More than a year after I graduated BYU, I have finally found one... ASU gets SPRING BREAK!!!

Now you'd think since I'm already graduated that it wouldn't matter to me, but my hunky husband is going to school at ASU and that foreign concept of Spring Break came as a welcome relief.

Although we both still had to work, we managed to find time to have some fun.

We went to a Cubbies Spring Training game and because my father in law rocks, we got to sit in the Mayor's Box right behind home plate. Best way to watch a game. I am now officially spoiled.

The following day, we finally got to utilize the tent we got as a wedding present.

Yep! We went camping! I'm not a real camper but I think Jeff can help cure me of that. We had such a great time.

The weather was perfect for camping and Arizona was so green!! (Ok green for a desert. No comments saying it's not green! haha)

When we returned, I wanted to take a cold shower only to find out that we had no cold water, only piping hot water. Yuck! Thankfully we live near my in-laws and we used their nice cold water.

Saturday rocked! We got up early and went to the temple, which is one of my favorite things to do with Jeff, made a delicious breakfast, totally cleaned our apartment and hung more picture frames on the walls and such. I love having a clean apartment! and having stuff on the walls makes it feel more like home (well except that we haven't put pictures in those frames yet so we have pictures of random people on our walls).

Although this week was a break from school for Jeff and teaching for me, it was not a break from the play. So after all of our house work, I had a matinee performance, got a massage and ice cream between shows, had another rocking show that night, and ended the night by going out with my husband, the cast, crew and friends to Oreganos. We came home exhausted and crashed. But it was such a good day! Such a good week!!

For not being a student, this Spring Break was one of the best I've ever had!!

I Had the Time of My Life :)

Ashley and John and Brenton came to visit me over Memorial day weekend. It was a blast! I have missed them all so much and to have them come see me pretty much made my life ;) Highlights of the weekend: We went and saw the hilarious play, "Charley's Aunt" at Hale Theatre (which we all laughed so hard throughout the entire thing).

The next day we went to the Phoenix Zoo. It would have cost a total of $64 but thanks to the Culture Pass we got in for free! Brenton and I were sunburned and a bird pooped on John. Haha. (Sorry, John. ;) ) AND! We saw an escaped snake! And the guy behind us get’s the award for the dumbest comment of the day when he said, “It must not be poisonous if they’re letting it roam about like this!” The sun must have gotten to his head or something.

We ate Mexican food in an all pink restaurant; went swimming (getting a little more burnt); had a BBQ; watched movies; played games; stayed up late. Great day! But boy were we tired!

Our last day was Sunday so of course we went to church, but we also played games, and made music around the piano, and visited the Mesa Temple.

Ashley and John are so cute!!

We're cute too, just a little...different, haha ;)

Sadly, they had to leave really early the next morning. We did a lot in one weekend but it was over waaaaaaay too soon. I love my friends so much! Thanks for coming guys!
